Testing FAQs
Answers to the most frequently asked questions.
Test Preparation
Your pre-testing instructions will depend on the test you’re having, but the most important thing you’ll need to do is drink plenty of water - unless your GP has given you a reason not to. This will make it easier for our team member to conduct your blood test. In some cases, you may be required to fast before your test.
Testing A-Z
The medical specialists at QML Pathology have compiled a series of Patient Information Brochures to help you understand some of the more common medical conditions and their testing implications.
Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing
A simple and highly accurate blood test, NIPT screens for common chromosomal abnormalities from as early as the 10th week of pregnancy, for both singleton and twin pregnancies.
Patient Self Request Testing
QML Pathology offers a limited range of self-requested pathology. In certain circumstances, patients can request a pathology test without the authorisation of a doctor or registered practitioner.
